The heroes return to their own reality after their Heroes Reborn adventures in Avengers Vol.2. After issue 84 the series returns to it’s original numbering to celebrate the 500th issue of the Avengers, collecting three volumes into one. On board with the 500th issue came writer Brain Michael Bendis whom would become one of the most important writers in Avengers history. The series ended after issue 503 and the special Avengers Finale one-shot and was revamped as New Avengers
