ITEM # Daring Mystery Comics #1 – 8

Daring Mystery Comics is an American comic-book series published by Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics, during the 1930-1940s period fans and historians call the Golden Age of Comic Books. Primarily a superhero anthology, it ran eight issues from 1940 to 1942, and is notable for work by Carl Burgos, Bill Everett, Alex Schomburg, and the team of Joe Simon & Jack Kirby.
Daring Mystery Comics #8 (Jan. 1942) features the first appearance of the Golden Age superhero Citizen V, who decades later appears in flashback in the Marvel series Thunderbolts, where his family and the Citizen V identity play a major part. A small handful of other Daring Mystery superheroes have been revived or have made guest appearances in modern-day titles, such as the World War II-set flashback series The Invaders and the feature “Liberty Legion” in Marvel Premiere.

ITEM # Comedy Comics # 9 – 34 ( 25 COMICS # 16 IS MISSING)

Comedy Comics was an anthology published during the 1940's, beginning with #9 (the first eight issues were published in the superhero title Daring Mystery Comics), by its sixth issue the comic began to feature Super Rabbit (who starred in several 1940's Timely Comics). As World War II was going on at the time, he would of course occasionally defeat Nazis although he would also stop regular criminals. After holding onto the title for twenty issues (and four years), with #34, Margie became the feature and with #35 the series changed its name to reflect this, becoming Margie Comics.

ITEM # 0114 Marvel Mystery Comics #1 – 92 (1939-1949)

Marvel Mystery Comics (first issue titled simply Marvel Comics) is an American comic book series published during the 1930s–1940s period known to fans and historians as the Golden Age of Comic Books. It was the first publication of Marvel Comics’ predecessor, Timely Comics, a division of Timely Publications.Though unnumbered, this series was spawned by the first Timely comice, Marvel Comics, which is now considered to be “issue 1” of the series. Marvel Mystery Comics was the first Marvel Comics series. It was home to many of the first Marvel heroes, such as the original Human Torch, Captain America and Namor, the Sub-Mariner, among others.The numbering of Marvel Mystery Comics continues in Marvel Tales starting with issue 93.

ITEM # 0113 Patsy Walker Vol. 1 #1 – 124 (1945-1965)

Patsy Walker, a romance character who first appeared in 1944, got her own solo title only months later. Starting in 1945 as an original Timely Golden Age comic, the very popular Patsy Walker ran through 1965 for 124 issues. Although Patsy had always starred in romance and humor comics up until that point, in 1965 (the same year her ongoing ended) she was first incorporated into the Marvel Universe in Fantastic Four Annual #3. However, it would be another eleven years before she first appeared as “Hellcat”, her super-heroine persona in the modern-day Marvel canon.
