The fictional character the Swamp Thing has appeared in five American comic book series to date, including several specials, and has crossed over into other DC Comics titles. The series found immense popularity upon its 1970s debut and during the mid-late 1980s under Alan Moore, Steve Bissette, and John Totleben. These eras were met with high critical praise and numerous awards. However, over the years, the Swamp Thing comics have suffered from low sales which have resulted in numerous series cancellations and revivals.

ITEM # Weird Mystery Tales #1 – 24 (1972-1975)

DC’s latest horror anthology didn’t enjoy as long a life as the company’s other Weird themed titles. However, the host that was first presented ina framing sequence by author Marv Wolfman and artist Bernie Wrightson would provide endless creative material for Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” series decades later. Cloaked in a dark robe and cowl, Destiny’s stories came from a large book chained to him, containing events past, present and future. Despite his blindness, nothing escaped his notice – except, perhaps, the fact that the biblical Eve would replace him as the series’ host after fourteen issues.

ITEM # Marvel Team Up Vol. 1 – 4 + Extras (1972-2019)

Marvel Team-Up is the name of several American comic book series published by American company Marvel Comics. The series featured two or more Marvel characters in one story. The original series was published from March 1972 through February 1985, featuring Spider-Man as the lead “team-up” character in all but nine of its 150 issues; of the remainder the Human Torch and the Hulk starred in six and three issues, respectively. When cancelled, the title was replaced by Web of Spider-Man.
The second series was published for 11 issues from September 1997 through July 1998 and originally featured Spider-Man; Namor the Sub-Mariner was the featured character starting with #8. A quarterly series titled Spider-Man Team-Up fulfilled much the same purpose as the original title from 1995 to 1997. The third Marvel Team-Up series, written by Robert Kirkman, began publication in January 2005 and frequently featured Spider-Man. This volume often reintroduced lesser-known Marvel characters that had fallen into obscurity.
Ultimate Marvel Team-Up is a comic book series, published by Marvel Comics which ran for 16 issues, including a concluding Ultimate Spider-Man Super Special. It is set in one of Marvel’s shared universes, the Ultimate Universe. The whole series starred Spider-Man teaming up with another superhero each issue. The series was written by Brian Michael Bendis, with each arc drawn by a different artist.

ITEM # 0384 The Mighty World of Marvel #1 – 327 (1972-1979) 262 FILES AVAILABLE

Marvel UK`s original superhero flagship, Mighty World of Marvel, began publication in October 1972 (it was cover dated 7th October, but most comics were dated for the last day before the next issue came out to prolong shelf life, and so MWoM #1 probably came out on the 1st October). It marked Marvel’s first stab at reprinting its own comics for the UK market, rather than licensing others (such as Alan Class and Odhams) to do so. A weekly black and white (although initially with some colour pages) magazine-size publication it featured reprints of stories from Marvel comic`s most popular heroes and teams. The initial line-up included Fantastic Four, Hulk and Spider-Man, but the last of these was soon given his own title, and replaced in Mighty World of Marvel by Daredevil. Other strips came and went, sometimes in connection to the cancellation of failing titles which were merged into their more successful siblings, a common practice for UK comics.
