ITEM # 0033A Archie Comics Double Digest COLLECTION OF 47 COMICS

Archie's Double Digest Covers

The Double Digest line was created as a way to offer readers anthologies with far more pages than the regular comics—here, 256 pages—collecting both classic and recent stories of Archie Andrews and his friends from Riverdale.

The issues you see in your image are from the 1980s and 1990s, when the publisher released various numbers with colorful covers and humorous or everyday situations.

Within these pages, you’d typically find:

  • Romantic adventures and love triangles between Archie, Betty, and Veronica.
  • School and teen humor with Jughead, Reggie, and other characters.
  • Seasonal and themed stories, like Christmas, summer vacations, or school dances.

The “Double Digest” format was very popular because it combined a small, portable size (perfect for pockets or bags) with abundant content, making it a collectible and easy-to-read product for all ages.

ITEM # Y – The Last Man #1 – 60

Y: The Last Man is a dystopian science fiction comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra published by Vertigo beginning in 2002. The series is about the seemingly only man who survives the apparent simultaneous death of every male mammal (barring the same man’s pet monkey) on Earth. The series was published in sixty issues by Vertigo and collected in a series of ten paperback volumes (and later a series of five hardcover “Deluxe” volumes). The series’s covers were primarily by J. G. Jones and Massimo Carnevale. The series received five Eisner Awards.

ITEM # Ex Machina #1 – 50

The series details the life of Mitchell Hundred (also known as The Great Machine), the world’s first and only superhero, who, in the wake of his actions on 9/11, is elected Mayor of New York City. The story is set during Hundred’s term in office, and interwoven with flashbacks to his past as the Great Machine. Through this, the series explores both the political situations Hundred finds himself in, and the mysteries surrounding his superpowers.

ITEM # Bone #1 – 55 (Color Edition)

Bone is an independently published comic book series, written and illustrated by Jeff Smith, originally serialized in 55 irregularly released issues from 1991 to 2004.

Smith’s black-and-white drawings were inspired by animated cartoons and comic strips, a notable influence being Walt Kelly’s Pogo: “I was … a big fan of Carl Barks and Pogo, so it was just natural for me to want to draw that kind of mixture of Walt Kelly and Moebius.” Accordingly, the story is singularly characterized by a combination of both light-hearted comedy and dark, epic fantasy: Time Magazine has called the series “as sweeping as the Lord of the Rings cycle, but much funnier.” The series was published bimonthly with some delays from June 1991 to June 2004. The series was self-published by Smith’s Cartoon Books for issues #1 through #19, by Image Comics from issues #20 to #28, and back to Cartoon Books for issues #29 through #55 (the final one).
