She-Hulk, also known as Jennifer Walters, is the cousin of Bruce Banner (the Hulk). She is a lawyer who Bruce seeks out for help with his life as the Hulk
The creation of She-Hulk was motivated by the success of The Incredible Hulk TV series. Marvel was concerned that the show's executives might introduce a female version of the Hulk and wanted to ensure they owned the rights to such a character
Stan Lee created She-Hulk and wrote the first issue He would not create another character for Marvel until 1992. John Buscema and Chic Stone contributed to the artwork
Publication History
The Savage She-Hulk series ran until March 1982, concluding with issue #25. David Anthony Kraft wrote the majority of the series, with Mike Vosburg penciling and Frank Springer inking most issues.
She-Hulk made guest appearances in other comics and became a member of the Avengers in Avengers #221 (July 1982). She also appeared in the *Marvel Super Hero Contest of Championslimited series (June to August 1982).
She-Hulk joined the Fantastic Four in Fantastic Four #265 (April 1984)[2]. During this time, she appeared in three Marvel graphic novels in 1985
In 1989, She-Hulk regained a solo series titled The Sensational She-Hulk, which ran for 60 issues. John Byrne wrote and drew issues #1–8, 31–46, and 48–50, and his stories satirized comic books and introduced She-Hulk's awareness of being a comic book character.
