ITEM # Vertigo Encyclopedia

Although this Vertigo Encyclopedia wasn't published by Vertigo, it blows the original one out of the water, not just because the original was made around the birth of the Vertigo imprint to detail the characters that switched over and this one deals with the life of it. But also because this one goes into great depth into the volumes Vertigo has released rather then just the characters, like others comic encyclopedias are known to do. But just because Vertigo didn't publish this doesn't mean it wasn't worked on by some of their greats, both Neil Gaiman (writer of Vertigo's The Sandman) and Karen Berger (the Executive Editor at Vertigo) provide forewords and still others helped with the content.

ITEM # Happydale – Devils in the Desert # 1 - 2

A small town that isn't quite what it seems comes to life in a profoundly different 2-issue Prestige Format miniseries. Happydale is a small mid-American town like many others...at least on the surface. But slightly below that placid surface, there's something...different. The residents are happy, they all get along, but there's something weird about pretty much all of them, from the circus-level fat ladies to the midgets and giants, from the three-eyed man to the three-headed boy. It doesn't seem like anything can break the peacefulness of Happydale's small-town life, at least until a depraved serial killer and his two psychopathic companions decide to take a break from their desert-wide killing spree and set out to take over the sleepy little town. But these newcomers have bitten off more than they can chew...

ITEM # The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest - GRAPHIC NOVEL

In this final graphic novel adaptation of Stieg Larsson's international bestseller, Lisbeth Salander lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She's fighting for her life in more ways than one: If and when she recovers, she'll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she will plot revenge - against the man who tried to kill her, and the corrupt government institutions that nearly destroyed her life. Written by novelist Denise Mina (The Field of Blood) and illustrated by Andrea Mutti and Antonio Fusso, this epic graphic novel concludes Vertigo's critically acclaimed adaptation of The Millenium Trilogy.
