ITEM # 0021A Wonder Woman Vol. 2 #0 – 226 + Extras (1987-2006)

Wonder Woman Vol. 2 Cover

Wonder Woman’s post-Crisis reinvention was nothing short of transformative. More radically reimagined than even Superman or Batman, her adventures began anew—not as a retelling through flashbacks, but set firmly in the present day. Under the artistry and co-plotting of George PĂ©rez, the Amazon Princess was immersed deeper into the lore of Greek mythology than ever before.

The series introduced a richer portrayal of Paradise Island and the Amazons, weaving ancient legends with fresh storytelling. Ares, the fearsome god of war, emerged as her first major foe in this new era. By the close of the debut issue, Wonder Woman had been born anew from the clay of her island home, embarking on her mission into the heart of humanity’s violent and complex world.

ITEM # 0017A THE FLASH Vol. 2 #0 – 247 + Annual

The Flash Volume 2

The Flash (Volume 2) is an ongoing series that focuses on the adventures of the third Flash, Wally West. It ran for a total of 233 issues (counting “#0,” “#1/2,” and “#1,000,000”) from June 1987 through March 2006.

During the “One Year Later” event, the series ended and made way for a new title, The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive, which starred Wally’s successor, Bart Allen. However, Fastest Man Alive lasted only one year, and as of issue #231 in 2007, The Flash (Volume 2) resumed publication.

The series concluded in February 2009 with issue #247. Following that, Flash Vol. 3 began publication in 2010, continuing the legacy of the Scarlet Speedster.

ITEM # ACTION FORCE # 1 - 50 (1987-1988)

In the U.K. toy manufacturer Palitoy had been releasing various toys, many licensed copies of American company Hasbro’s G.I. Joe America’s Mobable Fighting Man and G.I. Joe Adventure Team lines under new names (though not all, as the UK Action Man line included Parker Bros.’ Rom), as the Action Man toy line. In 1982, Palitoy relaunched the flagging line as Action Force, using some of the new G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line as their basis. In 1983 a comic strip adaptation of Action Force began in IPC’s weekly comic Battle, which was subsequently retitled Battle Action Force as several original Action Force strips filled much of the anthology title.
However, at the end of 1986 IPC lost the license to publish Action Force stories to Marvel UK, who launched a new Action Force title, reprinting US Marvel’s G.I. Joe strips alongside Lew Stringer’s humour strip Combat Colin and back-up strips taken from other Marvel US titles such as Master of Kung-Fu. Additionally, Action Force occasionally published brand new, UK-originated Action Force strips, including one which saw Action Force team up with the Autobots. The weekly Action Force cancelled with its fiftieth issue, and merged into Transformers. However, while the US G.I. Joe strip was still being reprinted in this new, combined title, Marvel UK soon launched a new Action Force Monthly, containing all UK-originated Action Force stories, both reprints from the weekly Action Force and new stories.

ITEM # Fall of the Mutants (Story Arc) (1987-1988)

Fall of the Mutants was an event in which dramatic changes were made to the status quo of the X-men, X-Factor and New Mutant Teams.
The event dealt (at least in small part) with the general public’s perception of mutants as dangerous criminals with no regard for the law, and the proposal of a “Mutant Registration Act”, in which mutants would be forced to register themselves with the government, as one would register a deadly weapon.
