Belgium, 1529: The city of Antwerp is ravaged by a macabre series of killings. The all-powerful Inquisition forces knight, doctor, lawyer, and reputed black magician Cornelius Agrippa and his young pupil Johan Weyer to investigate. Plunged into a maelstrom of murder, madness, and magic, they navigate ecclesiastical terror and obscure alchemy. Their inquiries twist through cryptic archives and fog-shrouded alleyways, where suspicion blooms like a plague. As the dead count rises, reason buckles under whispers of heresy and unholy rites. Agrippa’s mind, as sharp as a surgeon’s lancet, partners reluctantly with Weyer’s youthful empathy to confront the bleakest of mysteries. In the crucible of faith and fear, they discover that salvation may demand a price paid in blood and courage.
