"The Thirteen Origins – Zopilote" is a one-shot origin comic in the "The Thirteen Origins" series published by Scout Comics. It was released on October 18, 2023. The comic is written by Héctor Rodríguez III, with art by JM Cuellar Chema, and is 32 pages long.
While detailed plot specifics are scarce, as with other issues in the series, it features a Mexican or Mexican-American character discovering their supernatural abilities as a "chispa" or spark, tied closely to cultural heritage. The title "Zopilote" suggests a connection to the figure or symbolism of the vulture (zopilote in Spanish), which often carries thematic elements related to the environment, survival, or transformation.
